UMD Names Laura Schuler as New Head Women’s Hockey Coach
Schuler is the 3rd head coach in the team's 25 year history.
DULUTH, Minn.- It’s been over a month since Maura Crowell departed the UMD women’s hockey team for Dartmouth.
On Wednesday, the university finally selected her replacement and it just so happens to be one of her former assistants.
Laura Schuler has been named new head coach of the program. She’s the 3rd head coach in the team’s 25 year history.
Schuler previously served as the associate head coach for the past three seasons. She also had another stint with the Bulldogs from 2008 to 2015.
This won’t be her first go as the lead bench boss though as she’s been the head coach of the Canada national women’s hockey team, UMass, Northeastern, and lastly Dartmouth.
Schuler will officially be introduced Thursday at a press conference.
