Updated COVID-19 Numbers: Wednesday, December 9
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota health officials reported 4,539 new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota Wednesday morning bringing the total confirmed COVID cases to 363,719 in the state.
Health officials also reported 82 news deaths bringing the death total to 4,109 in Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health website, 4,690,213 tests have been completed to date.
There are 320,233 patients who no longer require isolation.
So far, 18,809 patients have required hospitalization and 4,106 cases have been hospitalized in ICU.

Carlton: 2,228 – 21 deaths
Cook: 93
Itasca: 2,298 – 26 deaths
Koochiching: 467 – 6 deaths
Lake: 480 – 10 deaths
St. Louis: 10,621– 141 deaths
Ashland: 813 – 10 deaths
Bayfield: 771 – 16 deaths
Douglas: 2,466 – 7 deaths
Iron: 380 – 10 deaths
Sawyer: 991 – 8 deaths
Gogebic: 653 – 11 deaths
As of Wednesday afternoon, Wisconsin health officials reported 422,065 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 3,887 deaths.
Health officials say the real number of Minnesotans infected with the coronavirus is likely much higher because most people did not originally qualify for testing, and studies suggest that people can be infected without feeling sick.
