Downtown Duluth’s Sidewalk Sale Returns

DULUTH, Minn — The summer weather on Wednesday was very appropriate for the kick-off of Downtown Duluth’s Sidewalk Days.

Wednesday was the first of three days of Sidewalk Days sales taking place on Superior Street. On a day where the weather was beautiful, the crowds turned out in big numbers. They may have come for the sales, but they were also enjoying the music, fun foods, and special activities for the kids.

Sara Johnson, was at the Sidewalk Sale to help her sister and stepmom who both had booths. She commented on the overall feeling at the sale. “They come from all over not just, you know, Duluth or Missouri, there are other people here. The shop down there, I went and got some fishing lures, but it’s a keychain. And so I think that’s really cool. And just all the different vendors, they’re all great.”

The Kolar Classic Car Show was held Wednesday evening. Visitors had the opportunity to look and dream of having a classic car of their own. “As somebody who loves classic cars. I’m super excited,” said UMD student Raschel Martin.” There’s a 1959 cherry red, Studebaker Hawk silver, the owner might just become my best friend,”.

The Sidewalk Sale will continue Thursday and Friday. Thursday night, nine restaurants and bars in the area will feature a Sidewalk Days Happy Hour between 4:00 and 6:00.

On Friday the Kick-Off to the Movies in the Park series will be showing the Barbie movie. The show starts at 9:00 at Leif Ericson Park.
