Charges: Carjacker Who Severely Injured Duluth Man Was On Meth
DULUTH, Minn. — An update on a violent carjacking in Duluth. Court documents say the suspect was on meth at the time and had been awake for 24 hours.
Kristy Johnson, 32, is facing six felony charges.
The criminal complaint says a 24-year-old Duluth man was picking up food at the Domino’s on Woodland Avenue near UMD when Johnson jumped into his vehicle and started to drive away.
The crime happened July 8 around 11 p.m.
Police said the victim was dragged and run over while trying to stop the carjacking.
The victim was critically injured with a broken clavicle and femur.
Medical staff told police he would have died without medical attention.
Johnson’s next court date is Aug. 6.
