8-Year-Old Boy Struck by a Truck in Ely

ELY, Minn. — An 8-year-old boy was struck by a truck while crossing the street in Ely. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the boy was in the crosswalk at the intersection of Highway 169 and N Central Avenue at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 61-year-old man from Ely.

It’s unknown whether the driver will face any charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
