Summer of Service Clean-Up Event in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. — On Thursday people from radio station Life 97.9 paired up with Twin Ports Trailer Trash to get Duluth a little cleaner.
Through the radio, they encouraged listeners to get outside and help keep the community clean. Volunteers hit the park point beach to pick up trash along the shoreline. They say, they had their work cut out for them.
“It was kind of amazing to see how much trash is actually around. And I think it’s really important for us to care for our community as well,” said Kelley Johnson, Listener Engagement Director.
The local full-service junk removal Twin Ports Trailer Trash is also teaming up with the community. The say, they can take trash off of people’s hands if they organize a cleanup event.
“The people of Duluth, they always come together for these events. The volunteers come out in forces. It’s just amazing to see what the community can do together,” said Bernard MCarthy, owner of Twin Ports Trailer Trash. “If you don’t give back, you won’t move forward. And so I try to give back as much as I can so I can move forward and keep growing.”
