Updated COVID-19 Numbers: Tuesday, December 15

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota health officials reported 2,340 new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota Monday morning bringing the total confirmed COVID cases to 384,164 in the state.

Health officials also reported 21 news deaths bringing the death total to 4,483 in Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health website, 4,965,904 tests have been completed to date.

There are 351,820 patients who no longer require isolation.

So far, 19,785 patients have required hospitalization and 4,286 cases have been hospitalized in ICU.

Itasca: 2,474 – 29 deaths
Koochiching: 501 – 7 deaths
Lake: 502 – 11 deaths
St. Louis: 11,333 – 159 deaths
Ashland: 879 – 13 deaths
Bayfield: 831 – 16 deaths
Douglas: 2,643 – 14 deaths
Iron: 398 – 10 deaths
Sawyer: 1,059 – 8 deaths
Gogebic: 680 – 12 deaths

As of Monday morning, Wisconsin health officials reported 438,895 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 4,068 deaths.

Health officials say the real number of Minnesotans infected with the coronavirus is likely much higher because most people did not originally qualify for testing, and studies suggest that people can be infected without feeling sick.
