Two Dead After Vehicle Strikes Tree Near Brule

BRULE, Wis. – Two people are dead after a vehicle strikes a tree north of Brule Saturday evening.
The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on County Highway H south of Koho Road just before 8:30 p.m.
They determined the 2006 Mercury Milan was heading southbound toward Brule when it lost control and left the road, eventually striking the tree.
Two women inside died at the scene from their injuries. They are 27-year-old Ariel Lee Pierre of Ashland, the driver, and 28-year-old Bridget Rose Pierre of Bayfield, a passenger.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. The Wisconsin State Patrol continues to investigate.
