Barbie Exhibition Coming Soon to Duluth
DULUTH, Minn.– The doll that has it all is being showcased in Duluth for the upcoming Barbie Exhibition.
The upcoming event that highlights all things Barbie is right around the corner. There will be more than 300 vintage artifacts for guests to check out. In addition, there are plenty of photo opportunities to interact with. From the mirror pink Corvette, as well as life-size Barbie boxes. With this event, you will be able to step back in time and see how this influential doll has impacted history. All the way back to the original Barbie, with her 22 outfits, to the Barbies you can find in stores today.
“Something that I think people will appreciate about this exhibition, is that they will see 65 years of dolls. They might find the doll they played with in their childhood. I found mine, she’s over there.” said Carrie Reid, owner of Dala Projects.
“Barbie is a very future forward icon.” Reid added.
With each Barbie on display, there is so much to learn and take away from this experience. Over the years, people young and old have been influenced by this doll. This event is hoping to draw those generations together.
“We have anyone from grandmas, to moms, to little girls. Seeing the Barbies they play with today.” said Trevor Bluth, producer Barbie, A Cultural Icon. “You know, we have a full diversity line of all the new Barbies the girls today get to play with, and to see them look just like them, no matter what. And then all the way to grandma, can tell about the Jackie Kennedy.”
The exhibition will open its doors on August 6th and stay open until September 22nd. For children ages 5-15, tickets run at $17 dollars. For adults 16 and over, they cost $22. And if you’re looking at getting a VIP ticket that includes merchandise, and front of line access, it costs $62.
