VIRGINIA, Minn. — The Virginia Police Department says a juvenile made a hoax bomb threat at Target Sunday night, causing an evacuation at the store.

Officers were dispatched to the Virginia Target at 8:52 p.m. Authorities say a male caller told them there was a bomb in the store and they needed to evacuate before it went off. Staff and customers then evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Police say a Duluth Police Department explosives detection K9 unit responded to find no device or explosives on scene.

The police department confirmed the caller was a juvenile. The juvenile admitted to making the threat and that it was a hoax.

The incident is under investigation.
