Demolition Begins Of Former St. Mary’s Medical Center

DULUTH, Minn. – Demolition has begun on the former St. Mary’s Medical Center on East 4th Street in Duluth.

Crews were seen Monday tearing down one of the campus skywalks that connected the former medical center to other Essentia Health buildings.

Meanwhile, roads are closed in the area during demolition, which will last through the end of August.

The city of Duluth is asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.

Closures include the 400 block of East 4th Street, 300 block of 5th Avenue East and the 300 block of 4th Avenue East.
