Proctor Football Embracing Youth Movement & Stewardship
Proctor kicks off the year August 30th in Hermantown.
PROCTOR, Minn.- It’s been a couple of learning years for the Proctor football team as the team went 2-7 in both 2022 and 2023.
But, with the start of a new season optimism is high for the Rails.
They may have only four seniors on the rosters this year, but head coach Matt Krivinchuk is enjoying the first week of camp.
Plenty of positions and plenty of opportunities up for grabs for the Rails.
He added that results don’t just come right away, you have to continue to build and build and then that’s when the results will show up.
“We have to get that experience and keep kids coming out and getting better and sticking together. The big thing is the togetherness in the building and carrying on and going through the process. We can’t take a short cut, we can’t go out and recruit all over the country. We have what we have and we’re excited with who we have. We’re just going to continue to work with what we have and try to become proficient at what we’re trying to build and get to and get those kids in position to be successful. Hopefully, as we talk year three, year four, the win column starts to change,” said Krivinchuk.
And that message has trickled down to his players, even the ones that have only one year left.
“It’s my last first for everything this season. A big thing with our program is stewardship and leaving the program better than the way you found it. And when I’m done, I’d like to say I did that,” said senior lineman Mason Parmeter.
“Us four guys have been here since day 1 with Kriv. So, we’ve been with him the longest. We know what he’s like. We’re really trying to teach them what that’s about and what he kind of stands for,” added senior quarterback and linebacker Rowan Kass.
