Spartan Staff get in Spirit

SUPERIOR, Wis. — While most back to school events are geared towards getting students excited about being back in the classroom, the Superior School District is getting its teachers and staff in the spirit.

Faculty from all of Superior’s schools gathered at the high school for some socializing, food, and Olympic themed fun. Dressed to represent their individual schools, staff competed in games to remind them of the focus for this upcoming school year, “Have fun.”

“Today, we are welcoming back all of our staff, our principals and our teachers to their first day back for the 24/25 school year,” Superintendent Amu Starzecki said.

The event allowed staff an opportunity to socialize with their colleagues from other schools, something Bryant Principle, Jason Kalin, said is tricky when classes are in session.

“I get to come back here and see all of my old colleagues,” Said Kalin, “and it’s a blast just to kind of rekindle those friendships and see a lot of people that I haven’t seen in a while. It’s just a great way to start out. It’s a smooth transition into a school year that we just get to really kind of pat each other on the back and wish each other good luck.”

Students in the Superior School District will be back in class starting the Tuesday after Labor Day.
