Carlton Man Sustains Significant Injuries After ATV Accident
MAHTOWA TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A 70-year-old man sustained significant injuries after an ATV accident on Tuesday evening.
The accident happened in the 2500 block of County Road 4 in Mahtowa Township at 5:29 p.m.
The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report of an ATV that flipped with the driver unconscious. After investigation, it was found the man from Carlton lost control of the ATV while leaving a gravel driveway onto the pavement. The ATV was found lying on top of him.
The man was brought to a Duluth hospital by air medical with significant injuries.
Authorities say the driver was not wearing a helmet and no other passengers were with him. Alcohol is not a factor.
