Annual Cookout Fundraiser for Hermantown Hockey Team
DULUTH, Minn.– The Hermantown Hockey team fired up the grills today for their annual fundraiser.
The boys sold brats and burgers to help support this cause.
Stokke’s Meat Market helped make this happen for the team, and folks are showing up for a great meal.
This year specifically, the funds are geared towards a new arena being built.
The hockey players say that having the community come together for them is a great feeling.
“It’s huge. I mean we have a big community. Our whole community supports our team.” said River Freeman, a Hermantown Senior.
“This year we have almost our whole team here. And they’ve been here since 8:30 this morning. And they’re going to be here all day. So, it’s real nice.”
This was one of the bigger fundraisers turn outs they’ve had. The team is looking forward to hockey season.
Some other expenses such as travel, and gear is also kept in mind during these fundraisers.
