SUPERIOR, Wis.– A golf scramble in Superior today focused on the importance of the Douglas County Historical Society.

The second annual Golf Tournament and Fundraisers for DCHS took off today at Nemadji Golf Course. Last year, the event brought in the museum $9,000. The golf course welcomed 17 teams teeing up for this scramble. Officials from DCHS say they’re hoping the importance of the museum is recognized because of this event.

“Part of what we like to do is get out and educate people on what the historical is, where we’re located, what our mission is, of sharing stories with the community. And this really helps us reach an audience that isn’t normally your typical historical society audience.” said Kristen Haux, Treasurer of the DCHS.

The proceeds will be used to offer free admission to the museum as well as preserve the artifacts there.
