The gates open for the 5th annual Duluth Oktoberfestival.

DULUTH, Minn.– German food, beer, and music has officially arrived in Duluth as the gates open for the 5th annual Duluth Oktoberfestival. People gathered at the gates of Bayfront Festival park for the opening ceremony, where the golden keg was tapped by organizers and Mayor Roger Reinert to begin the weekend of festivities. Oktoberfest offers many games and activities for the family all weekend long.

“ I think what we love most about Duluth Oktoberfestival is that it is an all ages event. So it’s multi-generational. We want to see people coming with grandparents, parents, kids, everyone coming out together. To Play games, to eat great food, to dance, to singing. All of those things celebrating German heritage,” said Lindsay Kern, event organizer.

The Duluth Oktoberfest will have events throughout the weekend.
Saturday’s fun begins at 11 a.m. and run through 11 p.m. and on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
