One Dead, One Injured After Traffic Accident in Tofte Area

COOK COUNTY, Minn. — One person is dead, and another is injured after a car wreck happened in the Tofte area.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office says on Tuesday at 8:29 p.m. they received a 911 call about the accident. Two people in a vehicle needed immediate medical attention.

Authorities say Douglas Junker was pronounced dead at scene. Another person, a woman named Joanne Bergstadt was brought to Duluth for medical service. Both were from Edina.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. This is under investigation.
