Earl Hanson Fields Unveils New Hiking Trail
GRAND LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — For a year now, the Earl Hanson soccer field has catered to the disc golf lovers, and the soccer players alike. But now, there is a hidden gem discovered within those fields. A new public hiking trail is being unveiled to join the park.
This was made possible by local businesses and volunteers. The disc golf course has proven to be successful this past year. With over three thousand recorded player rounds. One project coordinator says he’s looking forward to new ways to enjoy the space. But so far, it’s already drawn quite the crowd.
“Yeah, it’s been great. We’ve had people from all over not just locally in Grand Lake township. We have people coming from Duluth, Superior. Avid disc golfers that come up from the twin cities have now put this on their list as courses to check out and try,” said Tyler Masseth, a project coordinator.
The disc golf course is geared towards beginner and intermediate players. The new trail is aimed towards the people who are looking for a more casual approach to enjoying nature.
