Sacred Heart Music Center to Host “Duluth Does Motown” Night
DULUTH, Minn. — On Saturday, Sept. 28 the music will be flowing at the Sacred Heart Music Center for its new edition of “Duluth Does.”
The music center has a long-standing tradition of one-night-only events dedicated to a specific artist, such as “Duluth Does Elton John.” This weekend Sacred Heart is putting a spin on the series and hosting “Duluth Does Motown.”
Over two dozen local musicians will be playing hits from artists of the renowned Detroit record label Motown Records, from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross.
Plus, our very own Dan Hanger will be emceeing the event.
“It’s just going to be a lot of fun, a lot of big hits to hear, and you know, maybe there will be some dancing, who knows. It’ll just be a fun night here,” said Mark Nicklawske, Board of Directors, Sacred Heart Music Center. “And Motown is such a great musical source of great pop music, so everybody will know all the songs and it’ll be a lot of fun.”
The music will start at 7 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Music Center.
Tickets to the groovy event are available online and advance paper tickets are available at Globe News in Superior and Zenith Bookstore in Duluth. There will also be some available at the door while they last.
