2nd Annual Women in Leadership Conference
DULUTH, Minn.– Folks gathered on Monday to highlight topics of feminism, leadership, and equality at the DECC.
For the 2nd annual Women in Leadership Conference folks were able to participate in workshops and panels, to highlight success stories from 26 speakers in typically male dominated career fields. Featuring women from places like Bent Paddle, 148th Fighter Wing, and Minnesota Power.
One event organizer tells us there really is something for everyone here.
“I had goosebumps on my arms. Their stories are so incredible. Their bravery, their courage, the tips they gave the audience members who are maybe facing something challenging. How to be resilient. How to be radically inclusive,” recalled Aubrey Hagen, an event organizer.
The conference has had quite the following since it debuted last year.
“I had no idea it would take off like this. We sent out a survey when we were just thinking about doing this event, and it got over 220 responses. Just in that survey in a couple of weeks. I use those results to build a conference agenda. So, I knew it would really resonate with attendees. And we do that every year,” said Hagen.
The conference closed out with an after party designed for networking and togetherness. The near sold-out event is looking forward to sharing even more stories, tips, and advice with people for years to come.
