After Unexpected Bye Week, #3 UMD Women’s Hockey Heads to #7 Colgate

Bulldogs hold a 4-1 record all-time against the Raiders.

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s hockey team was supposed to have two series under their belt by now.

That was until travel issues postponed their home series with Syracuse this past weekend.

So a bye week it was for the Bulldogs. But, they didn’t treat it like one as the team held an intrasquad scrimmage instead.

Head Coach Laura Schuler gave props to her leadership group for what they brought to the scrimmage and the practices leading up to the Colgate series.

“The energy has been spectacular on the ice. I give a ton of credit to our leadership group and just every day what they bring to this program. They’re constantly elevating the level of excellence each and every day. Our goal, as I said before, to be better than we were the day before every time we step on the ice. Our leadership hones that every single time we practice,” said Schuler.

UMD and Colgate begin their series on Friday. Bulldogs hold a 4-1 record all-time against the Raiders.

Puck drop is at 5 PM.
