New Bridal Shop Coming To Downtown Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. — A new shop is coming to Downtown Duluth with a hope to bring beauty and light to Superior Street.

Josephine’s Bridal is located in the Bagley Building with plans to open beginning of November. The owner Mariah McKechnie wants it to be a luxury dress shopping experience bringing in size inclusive, trendy and timeless gowns. The shop is named after one of her twin daughters Josephine and the logo is inspired by her other daughter Lily.

“To say that weddings and the wedding gown experience has been part of their entire life is a true statement. And so, this is now like a really amazing opportunity for us to work together. So, they will work alongside me in this business and have been part of the buying and the build out, and everything that we’ve been doing along the way,” said McKechnie. “I started this business and have worked alongside my mother the entire time. She is still a part of all of this and so, to be able to continue that into the next generation is an absolute honor and delight. And I hope that they can learn so much from this as well as they go into their own careers.”

The 19,000 square foot Bagley Building was bought by Mariah and her husband in 2022. The bridal shop is just one of the businesses they own within it.
