Mania — The ABBA Tribute Returns To The DECC Oct. 16
It’s been nearly 30 years since ABBA last went on tour. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the band’s famous songs through a premiere tribute band!
Mania – The ABBA Tribute is back at the DECC Symphony Hall Oct. 16.
It’s a two-hour recreation of one of ABBA’s most memorable concerts, bringing to life all of the band’s greatest hits, like Dancing Queen, Superior Trouper and Mamma Mia.
Alison Ward has been a main actress and singer in the tour for a decade now.
“I have loved this show from day one. I’m the lucky one who gets to put on the blonde wig and play Agnetha, and the show itself is just so much fun. If you’re there because you’re an Abba fan, great, if you’re there because you’ve been roped in by a family member, great. It doesn’t matter if you know the music or not, it is just one big party, one big dance party,” Ward explained.
Ward said she loves when everyone in the audience dresses to impress, just like if it were the old days of the 1970s.
“One of our musicians always has a little peek before the show starts, and we always know what kind of atmosphere we’re getting. If people are dressed up, it’s just going to be a great night. It’s always fun. But the people in costume just bring it. Because they’re there just to have a good old time as our way,” Ward said.
