Coffee Conversation: New Superhero Play Celebrates Indigenous Culture at Norshore Theatre

DULUTH, Minn. — New Native Theatre, in collaboration with Duluth Playhouse, is set to present “Fallenstar: The Watchoverers,” a captivating new superhero play by Ramón Esquivel, running from October 11 to 13, 2024, at the NorShor Theatre.

NNT Artistic Director Rhiana Yazzie and Fallenstar Actor Shinaana Secody joined Fox 21 on the morning newscast Wednesday to talk about the significance of this show.

As part of the BIPOC Superhero Project, this initiative aims to enhance representation in regional theaters by supporting playwrights of color and showcasing strong, heroic BIPOC characters for young audiences.
