UMD Men’s Hockey Preps for First Road Series of Season at UMass Lowell
UMD hasn't played against UMass Lowell since the 2019 season.
DULUTH, Minn.- this upcoming weekend will be their first road series of the season for the UMD men’s hockey team.
The Bulldogs will travel to play Massachusetts Lowell, a team that haven’t seen since the 2019 season.
That series resulted in a split with Lowell taking the first contest and UMD returning the favor in the 2nd game.
Head Coach Scott Sandelin says since they haven’t seen the River Hawks in awhile mixed with limited film on their opponent, the focus this weekend needs to be on what they need to clean up.
“There’s still areas, especially early in the year that probably every team needs more time on or needs more video, teaching clips. But I think we have a smart enough that can figure that out quickly. It doesn’t always need to be through practice. Some of this game you have to learn through video as long as we don’t complicate it. Just keep it simple and show a couple of clips,” said Sandelin.
UMD holds the all-time record of 12-4-3 over Lowell.
The Bulldogs and River Hawks get things going on Friday at 6:15 PM.
