#3 UMD Women’s Hockey to Face Top Ranked Team in Country for 2nd Time This Season
Last season, Wisconsin took three out of the four meetings with UMD.
DULUTH, Minn.- For the 2nd time this season, the 3rd ranked UMD women’s hockey team is getting set to face the top ranked team in the country.
Last time they battled with the number one, they swept the Ohio State Buckeyes on their home ice.
The Bulldogs will try to replicate some of that success as they head to Madison to face the now top seeded Wisconsin Badgers.
UMD has enjoyed playing at Lebahn in recent years, going 4-2 in the last three seasons.
Head Coach Laura Schuler explained why they’ve been able to pick up W’s in Mad Town.
“One, I think we’ve had tremendous teams. And two, I think our staff has done a really good job of making small adjustments from game to game to be able to get in there and compete,” said Schuler.
“I know that they’re a really skilled team. They have a lot of good players. But I think that overall we have a team that can work hard together. I know we can beat them, we did that last year and I think we have a better team this year,” added goaltender Eve Gascon.

It’s a rare Saturday-Sunday series as game one is set for 2 PM.
