Update: 63-Year-Old Man Dies from Injuries Suffered in Eveleth House Fire
UPDATE (October 12, 3:15 p.m.)
EVELTH, Minn. — The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office reports that the victim, who has been identified as 63-year-old Dale Wallander of rural Eveleth, has died from his injuries suffered in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Fire Marshalls Office.

EVELETH, Minn. — A 60-year-old man was hospitalized with severe burn injuries following a house fire on the morning of Friday, October 11.
At around 11:26 AM, first responders were dispatched to the 7100 block of Antoinette Road after a report of a 60-year-old man found with burns over most of his body at the end of a driveway.
When police arrived, they saw the victim’s house fully engulfed in flames.
The man was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening burn injuries, but thankfully, no one else was hurt.
The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal will investigate the cause.
