#5 UMD Women’s Hockey to Welcome St. Thomas to Amsoil for Home Opener

UMD boasts an 11-0-1 all-time record against St. Thomas, including a 4-0 mark last season.

DULUTH, Minn.- Friday will mark their first home game of the season for the UMD women’s hockey team as they take on St. Thomas.

It’s been somewhat of a lop sided affair when the Tommies and the Bulldogs clash.

UMD boasts an 11-0-1 all-time record against St. Thomas, including a 4-0 mark last season.

Head Coach Laura Schuler said you can’t overlook the Tommies though due to their strong start.

“They continue to keep getting better. I know that coach Joel Johnson, one of his focuses is his team to have that competitive mindset. You’re seeing that, you’re seeing that in video, they’re 4-0. So they’re an opponent not to take lightly whatsoever this weekend. Which is why we have clarified this as a work week for us. We have to get ready to make sure that we’re ready to go on Friday,” said Schuler.

Game one between the Tommies and Bulldogs is set for 3:01 PM on Friday.
