#24 UMD Volleyball Seeks Revenge Against #5 St. Cloud State
The Bulldogs have taken three out of the last four meetings against the Huskies.
DULUTH, Minn.- The 24th ranked UMD volleyball team is gearing up again to face another ranked team Thursday evening.
So far this season, they’ve played five.
The Bulldogs just faced off against their opponent on Thursday back on October 1st, with SCSU winning in straight sets.
That loss also signaled the start of a five-game losing streak, which UMD finally snapped over the weekend, topping Augustana in five sets.
Head Coach Jim Boos said it was a relief to win the way that they did. He added that he hopes that that win will be a stepping stone for things to come.
“You hope that can carry over a little bit and supply some confidence. It was just a feeling of relief I think for everybody that yes we finally got this one done all the way to the finish line. The big thing for us I think is to focus on how we play. The things we’re doing on our side. The results are going to be what they are. If we can just keep working on playing better cleaner, less error-prone volleyball, good things are going to start happening,” said Boos.
Being that the Bulldogs just saw the Huskies 16 days ago, the matchup is still fresh on the minds of the players.
“They are a very good team and we give them props for that. We just need to do our side and do everything that we can defensively. Offensively, we’ve worked on lowering our errors and that will be huge against this team because Kenzie Foley will get her kills and we need to get them right back and defend her very well to hopefully win this game,” added outside hitter Payton Addink.
