Ashland Celebrates New Fire Station With Open House
The City Has Been Working To Get Building for 40 Years
Ashland opens their new fire department building up to the community to celebrate it’s completion.
Residents of the Ashland area had the chance to tour the building that’s been in the works for over 40 years
The original building was built in the 1920’s, and authorities say, after 94 years, an upgrade was past due.
After working for almost 4 decades to get the new building, The city of Ashland is celebrating the completion of the fire station with an open house.
Residents in the area enjoyed a tour of the building, along with live music and free brats, to get a look at the inside of the multi-million dollar facility for the first time.
Previously, the fire station had equipment scattered throughout the city, which delayed response times. Now all the equipment they need is under one roof.
The building is 22 thousand square feet In size and houses dorms, a training room, and other amenities.
