SUPERIOR, Wis. — Young students got to experience what it is like to head to the polls on Election Day.

Superior Middle School hosted its first mock election. The younger voters getting to experience what the voting process is like and just how important it is to make your voice heard. Students were able to fill out the exact same ballot that the citizens of Superior get to do. Organizers say it is never too early to teach students what it means to vote.

“A lot of kids are really excited. Particulary if their families have taken them voting before, they’ve been to the polls, they understand the importance of their voice and their choice being heard,” said Amanda Lindquist, Instructional Coach at the Superior Middle School.

Donations from the City of Superior and the Rotary Club of Superior made it possible to put on this mock election event.
