The Wildcat Sanctuary Expands by 120 Acres
SANDSTONE, Minn. — The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone is expanding its footprint by 120 acres.
The adjacent land has always been on the eyes of executive director Tammy Thies. So, when she saw the for-sale sign pop up recently, she immediately made an offer. Thies says the new land will act as a natural buffer between wild animals and the sanctuary of rescued wildcats. She says a wild bobcat, deer and a bear have already been captured on trail cameras on the new land.
Donors of the wildcat sanctuary made the purchase possible.
