UW-Superior Men’s Soccer Knocks Off St. Olaf to Advance to First-Ever Sweet Sixteen
UWS will next face Amherst on Saturday at Simpson Field in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
NORTHFIELD, Minn.- For the first time in program history, the UW-Superior men’s soccer team will be playing in the sweet sixteen of the national tournament.
On Sunday, the Yellowjackets knocked off the defending champions, St. Olaf, 4-2 in penalty kicks to secure the upset.
Felipe Oliveira and Josh Bellamy were the goal-scorers in regulation.
In the PK’s, UWS scored all four attempts while goalkeeper Alex Paredes stopped two of the four attempts he saw.
