CHUM Distributes Thanksgiving Boxes
DULUTH, Minn.– For over a decade, CHUM has pitched in to help as many people as possible to make sure they have a Thanksgiving meal they deserve.
For the season of giving, CHUM has prepared 100 Thanksgiving boxes filled with all of the essentials.
There are favorites such as the turkey itself, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and even homemade pies.
Volunteers banded together at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Monday morning to make the distribution possible.
Giving back to those in need especially resonates with one of the officials at CHUM.
“This is everything to me. I used to be a single mother of three kids, so, and I was in need of food. And just being able to pay it forward and be in their shoes. And that’s how I designed every box. What kind of stuffing we’re going to get. And trying to think, you’ve got kids doing this. and the dog’s doing this, and you’re just trying to have the best Thanksgiving dinner that you can,” said April Ledoux, the Director for Distributive Services at CHUM.
CHUM isn’t done with the Thanksgiving distribution.
On Wednesday, November 27th, starting at 10 AM they will be dishing out 200 additional boxes at the CHUM food shelf on North 1st Ave in Duluth.
The boxes first come first serve, with no sign up required.
