Esko Native & Minnesota Safety Koi Perich Named First Team All-Big Ten

Perich is the first Gophers true freshman to earn All-Big Ten honors since 1986.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- Esko native and Minnesota safety Koi Perich didn’t play like your average freshman this season.

On Tuesday, he was recognized for his efforts this year by the Big Ten conference.

Perich was named First Team All-Big Ten after leading the conference with five interceptions this season.

He also had 42 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses, and a forced fumble.

Perich is the first Gophers true freshman to earn All-Big Ten honors since 1986.

He and his teammates will learn what bowl game they’ll be playing in this upcoming weekend.
