Warming Center Remains Open Due to Extreme Cold
DULUTH, Minn. – The City of Duluth will keep the Warming Center open for the week of February 8 due to continued dangerously cold temperatures.
City officials say they will extend Warming Center hours as long as daily highs remain at zero degrees.
The Center will be open February 9 through February 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Center will also be open 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The Warming Center saw its highest number of guests last week with 37 people utilizing the space at one time.
The Warming Center is located in the Rainbow Center at 211 North 3rd Avenue East.
The DTA will provide rides to and from the Warming Center for free.
The CHUM Drop-In is also open 24 hours as a warming center for those in need.
