Finishing Touches on the 8th Annual Winter Village at the DECC

DULUTH, Minn.– It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the DECC, as they prepare for their 8th annual winter village weekend.

Taking inspiration from European winter villages the DECC is excited to bring this back for another year.

This year, they’re introducing their tinsel tavern, where you can immerse yourself in a Christmas wonderland.

In addition, they’re featuring 45 vendors both inside, and outside in cabins.

Having this unique Christmas experience is something that DECC officials takes pride in.

“Every square inch of the room is covered. We have a thousand feet of tinsel, 600 feet of wrapping paper, and it took ten days to put together. And the women who did it say it took them 20 coffees to make it happen,” explained Lucie Amundsen, the Communications Director for the DECC.

The winter village will be going on all weekend, beginning on December 7th and 8th, and goes from 10 AM to 4 PM.
