Friday Evening Northland Forecast: 12/6/2024
A Mild Weekend Coming
We have had a little bit of everything in the last week. Some light snow. A little light mist/rain in the air (in Lakeside). Some chilly, arctic air, and some VERY strong winds on Wednesday. If you’ve lived in the Twin Ports for a few years, you know the weather up here is never dull! The winter solstice is 2 weeks from tomorrow. So, the days will finally stop getting shorter, and begin to very slowly get longer. You won’t sense that much for the rest of December, but as we get into mid-January, you will definitely notice the increase in sunshine. That’s a nice feeling in the dead of winter.
For this weekend, Saturday will be the nicer day, with some afternoon sunshine, and highs from 35 to 40. Sunday will be more cloudy, with a chance for light rain/snow overnight into Monday. By Monday, it will cool down, and become all snow, but not very much. We may get 1-2″ of snow by the end of Monday. It will be more of a nuisance than a thrill. It will be fairly windy the next few days, too. But not as crazy windy as it was on Wednesday. This coming Wednesday brings a high of 12, and a low of 0. You might just want to stay under the covers that day.
By Friday, we will see the sun return and warm back up to 28 degrees. At least we will finish the week on a bright and warm note. Something we can all look forward to.
Have a great weekend!
