Vikre Releases Sugarbush Whiskey

Vikre Distillery to release lot two of their Sugarbush Whiskey.

Whiskey lovers, it’s time to raise your glass to a new batch of the only distilled and bottled whiskey in Duluth.

Vikre Distillery will release lot two of their Sugarbush Whiskey on April 1st.

Each drop is aged in a port barrel and then transferred to a maple syrup barrel.

It’s been aging for about a year and while that might be young for this type of drink, it doesn’t taste like it.

“We’ve been up and running here for about two years and excited to start to see those products that have been in the barrel….taking their time to come to fruition. It’s pretty exciting,” said Vikre co-founder Joel Vikre.

200 gallons of the whiskey has been made. Lot one sold out in less than two weeks.

You can pick up the whiskey if you’re old enough at the distillery and at local liquor stores.

The distillery just got their own tanks and in the next few months will release a few more whiskey flavors.
