International Transgender Day of Visibility
Day brings awareness and fights to stop transphobia.
March 31sr marks the 6th annual international Transgender day of visibility.
It’s a time to shed some light on the achievements of transgender people across the world.
Members of the Northland Prism community, Trans + and Together for Youth celebrated the day by gathering at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Superior Street in Duluth.
They stood an waved signs not only to bring awareness but to help stop transphobia.
“We’re just glad everybody’s out here. We’re here. We’re visible and we’re more than visibility which is the hashtag that’s associated with today,” said Trans+ board member Sean Hayes.
Many on hand felt empowered by the support of motorists and others passing by.
