Fire Destroys Home in Superior, No Injuries Reported

SUPERIOR, WI. — A fire in Superior on Thursday evening has left a home on Oakes Avenue a total loss.

The Superior Fire Department responded to the blaze at 6:23 PM on December 12th.

When crews arrived, they found heavy flames on the second floor of the two-story home. All occupants had safely exited and were accounted for.

Firefighters initially fought the fire from inside, but had to retreat due to safety concerns as the flames grew.

The fire was then tackled from the outside before crews re-entered to extinguish remaining hotspots. The scene was under control by 11:37 PM, and a fire watch was left overnight.

The home suffered an estimated $150,000 in damages. Thankfully, there were no injuries to the residents or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
