Salvation Army Hit Funding Goal After Generous Donation
DULUTH, Minn. — The iconic Red Kettles and their volunteers have been very busy this season, but now, they get to celebrate!
They met their $250,000 donation goal.
They didn’t do it alone either.
Between the bell ringers and all the generous donations, it was a tight finish to the season.
However, one generous business came through again.
“Luckily for us, Hartel’s Disposal is donating $55,000. You know, people always tell me, during the season, and I’m freaking out, people always say it’s all gonna work out and I say is it though? But it has and sometimes I think you know it’s the magic of Christmas that maybe brings out the best in people.” – Cyndi Lewis, Community Engagement Director at The Salvation Army
Lewis also mentioned that they never expect repeat donations such as Hartel’s, who ‘saved Christmas’ last year with a $25,000 donation.
The Salvation army is very grateful that they filled the gap again this year.
The donations go into the general fund, which gets distributed as needed to fund their programs.
