Limited Time: ‘Twin Ports Trailer Trash’ Free Christmas Tree Dump

DULUTH, Minn.– One person’s Christmas tree is a Duluth company’s trash. And once again, they’re helping clean up after the holidays — for free.

For seven years, Twin Ports Trailer Trash has given back to the community by collecting Christmas trees at no cost.

Of all people, the Grinch is involved in this operation and is responsible for much of the work.

Putting on this free event not only helps out the workers during their slow season, but it also ensures a safe disposal of the trees.

“Well, the way I see it, bringing it back to the woods could cause a fire hazard when it comes to the dry season. When the trees dry up, all it takes is a spark, and it goes up quick. So, it’s just a safer way to do it. If we actually take care of it, bring it to the proper disposal area,” said Kevin Potter, the Director of Operations for Twin Ports Trailer Trash.

If you still have a real tree with no lights or decorations, you can drop it off for free until Jan. 30 at 215 South 37 Ave West, just past Bayside recycling if you get off the 40th Ave. West exit.
