#4 UMD Women’s Hockey Set to Clash with #10 SCSU for 2nd Time in 2024-2025 Season

UMD currently has a six-game unbeaten streak against St. Cloud State.

DULUTH, Minn.- For the first time this season, the 4th ranked UMD women’s hockey team will meet up with a team they’ve previously saw earlier in the season.

The Bulldogs will welcome in the 10th ranked St. Cloud State Huskies, who they just played over a month ago.

That series resulted in one tie and one win for UMD. It also extended an unbeaten streak against the Huskies that is now up to six games.

Head Coach Laura Schuler expressed confidence in her team being able to match up with the toughness that the Huskies present.

“I think it’s going to be important for us to play physical but play disciplined, play disciplined hockey. We can be really dangerous when we play disciplined hockey. We have to make sure we’re doing things the right way. We’re moving our feet. We’re not reaching and clutching and grabbing and things like that. We’re using our fitness to our advantage, cutting people off, playing the right way in order to be dangerous,” said Schuler.

Over the past decade, UMD owns a 34-5-8 record against SCSU. They’ll try to make it 35 on Friday at 3:01 PM.
