#4 UMD Women’s Hockey Faces Short Week for Series Against St. Thomas
UMD previously swept St. Thomas at home back in October and hold a 13-0-1 all-time record against them.
DULUTH, Minn.- For the 2nd time this season, the 4th ranked UMD women’s hockey team is tasked with facing a short week as they will play at St. Thomas on Thursday and Friday.
But, the Bulldogs will be eager to get out on the ice as they are coming off being swept by Ohio State at home.
Thursday’s contest will mark the 3rd time this season that the Tommies and Bulldogs have clashed.
UMD previously swept St. Thomas at home back in October and hold a 13-0-1 all-time record against them.
“They’re a really good structured team. The details are going to be very important for us. It’s hard to find open ice against them. They’re a team that likes to play man on man so for us we’re going to have to get creative. But, we’re excited to play and sometimes it’s great to have that little short week where we just came off some games, so let’s just keep the momentum going,” said head coach Laura Schuler.
Six of the 13 wins against the Tommies have come in shutout fashion.
The two teams drop the puck at 7 PM on Thursday.
