Super One Foods Raises $105,000 for Salvation Army

DULUTH, Minn.– Despite the holidays being over, Super one Foods is still celebrating the success with their annual holiday round up.

Every year at the Super One Foods stores they team up with the Salvation Army.

This is the second year that all of the Super One locations has pitched in.

With the help of both the bell ringers and their pin pad round up campaign they were able to raise $105,000 dollars across all of the stores.

Super One matched that amount with an additional $50,000.

The raised money will go towards the communities the stores are located in.

“When they can know that we’ve got their back, and we’re going to provide that additional support annually. I think that goes a long way because they know it’s something they can count on. And they know the all the people they’re serving can count on,” said Patrick Miner, President of Miner’s INC.

For some of the Salvation Army locations receiving this money, it was needed to simply help keep things running.

“It’s tremendous, and it enables us to do even more. Without that support, we wouldn’t be able to do some of our programming here in Duluth. And I know the Salvation Army I talked about all the way from Wadena to Marquette that get the support from Super One, it has enabled them to do more. Just because they weren’t expecting this a couple years ago,” said Anthony Nordan, a Captain at Salvation Army.

The Duluth Salvation Army specifically helps between 12,000 and 15,000 people annually with hardships such as food security, disaster relief, as well as clothing and shelter.
