‘Climate Future’ Conference at UMD
DULUTH, Minn.– The future climate of Duluth is the center of a two-day public conference at UMD this week.
Environmental experts throughout the state of Minnesota are part of the “Climate Future” conference, including the D-N-R, NOAA and ‘the institute of environment’ a U-M-D.
Workshops, panel discussions and presentations are all part of the process to engage everyday citizens who could be a part of collecting climate data for different science projects with leading experts.
“And one of the great things about participation is that if you feel activated, and enthusiastic, it makes you feel empowered to be a part of the solution. And that I think is one of the most important things that participatory science for anybody but of course the younger generations,” said Julie Etterson, a Distinguished McKnight Professor at UMD.
The seminar continues tomorrow and is open and free to the public.
The workshops and conferences go from 8 a.m., and they wrap up at 5 p.m.
