Solidarity with Refugees at Pilgrim Lutheran Church
SUPERIOR, Wis.– The topic of immigration and refugees is getting a lot of attention at the national level these days.
That’s why a professor at UW Superior is hosting a free educational week for anybody wanting to learn more.
Dr. Haji as he is best known, immigrated to the United States from Iran in 1980s.
He’s created a space all week long at Pilgrim Lutheran church for people to look through books and have conversations through presentations.
Dr. Haji is calling for compassion for people looking for a better life or are facing deportation.
“As an educator, I’m also interested in teaching people. And there’s a whole bunch of books dealing with the idea of migrants and refugees. And it’ll be good for people to read more. Because through these readings, you find experiences,” said Dr. Haji Dokhanchi.
The education area is open at Pilgrim Lutheran Church from 10 in the morning until 4:30 through Friday.
