UMD has brought in 36 new recruits for this upcoming season. Three of which are local talent.

DULUTH, Minn.- It was National Signing Day on Wednesday for a number of players and programs.

Among the teams announcing their class was the UMD Bulldogs.

UMD has brought in 36 new recruits for this upcoming season.

The freshman hail from Wisconsin, Nevada, Kansas, Illinois, North Carolina, and in Minnesota.

The Bulldogs 2025 class also include three local standouts in Northwestern’s Cooper Lawton, Two Harbor’s Tate Nelson, and Mountain Iron-Buhl’s Chris King.

“All three of these guys were at camp this summer. Had a chance to see these guys, work with these guys, build a relationship with these guys and their families. Between Tate and Cooper, I have known their families for a long time, both through coaching and the lineage of UMD football with Cooper. So I’m excited to have these three guys and our focus will always be to have the best and the brightest local talent that we can at UMD and we’re certainly excited about these three,” said head coach Curt Wiese.

The most added position for UMD was at the defensive back spot with eight newcomers.
